The last time the Chemical Brothers rocked my world was with a brilliantly diverse album known to heads of many circles as Surrender. Like many great recordings, this one took the listener on a long journey; music for every activity. There was one for jumping on the hood of your boss's car. There was one for taking drugs and jumping off of your balcony. There was one to get zooted and smell your feet to. It was all there.
That was a tough standard to set for themselves, but the Chemical Brothers seemed to have at least come close to the genius of their last album. There are beats from many backgrounds. Break beat jams, some electro, even a reuse of the classic Michael Jackson Billy Jean beat (the beat, not the song or the melody). Make no mistake, this album is not for pregnant women or people with heart trouble. You must be at least 4 feet tall to listen to this album. It is large in every way, buy it and let it grow on you with every listen. Stay tuned for Jaysun's live review of their Sydney show at the Horden Pavillion March 6th. |W|P|9946625|W|P|CHEMICAL BROTHERS | COME WITH US|W|P|scottlmoe@gmail.com
